Ahah..I just realised that the link I placed in my previous entry for my mission trip is wrong. Oppsie. Haha :p Anyway, I am back from Mongolia after being there for 1 month as I just came back on Sunday.

Having my mission trip in Mongolia has been a memorable, fruitful and an unforgettable one with so many friends made and lessons learnt. Truly I have seen God's love and protection throughout the entire one month there.

1) God protected me from falling all the way into the sewage hole at night. As the lightings on the streets are few, it was rather dark at night and plus I saw that the sewage hole was being covered only by a flimsy piece of cardboard over it. I wonder if anyone had fell into it before. It would be scary to hear about it because I suffered from terrible bruises on my leg after that. And another piece of information, there are many sewage holes on the ground.

2) God's love for the students in both Ulaanbaatar and National University and the kids in Elementary School. As we were spilted into three different campuses, I was assigned to Ulaanbaatar University together with Ronald, Howe Luen and Clement where we taught English to six freshmen classes. As it was tedious for all of us to take all six, we decided to pair up and I was paired with Ronald. The classes we took were the A classes. In other words, the more fluent in English ones and I really thank God for their teacher who gave us lots of help especially in explanation of certain words. Apart from the lessons, the students arranged to meet us after school and they were really hospitable. They had the whole afternoon itinerary planned out for us. There were even students from National University who came over to our house to cook for us. But not forgetting why my team was there in the first place, we invited our contacts twice over to the Student Centre with one, trying Singapore food and the other, sharing Christ with them. They were opened and by God's grace, 21 accepted Christ.

3) One of the Saturdays, my team decided to go give out food to the poorer families and at the same time, share the gospel with them. When I reached the place, there were mostly Gears everywhere where the families stay in but I found out, that there were families worst off than them. There was this particular family who lived in a house made of wooden planks that at first sight, it was obvious that it would not be able to keep them really warm inside. And amazing thing was that the house was built by the mother. Later on, we found out through Saraa, a student leader, that they are Christians. Apart from visiting the families, we approached people who were collecting garbage from the area where rubbish is usually dumped. Besides all the "houses" and rubbish dump, there was this large area filled with tombs but what struck me was many of them had only a year to live. Imagine that. Overall, the families and people were willing to listen and to be prayed for. I pray that God's love, protection and providence will be with them.

4) My team met this 'street' kid at the Cafeteria who turned out to be a boy who ran away from home. At first, we did not know about the truth as he told us he was an orphan (through Zulaa, a student leader) and we bought him food and told him we would like to meet him at the same place on Sunday at night. And he turned up. My team bought him food again and brought him to our home to bathe. It was then we got to know the truth. However as my team was heading to the countryside the next day, we decided to bring him along and send him back home after that. Through this incident, we saw God's love upon Him as even though he was living in th streets for 10 days already, he was a happy kid and he did not steal to get money. He rather begged and his dream is to be a policeman.
5) God helped my team to unite and work together despite our imperfections, flaws and strong characters. It was His love that helped us to love and accept one another as who we are. Living, interacting and seeing for one whole month was no joke and that was where we got to see each other's personality and character. No one is imperfect and it takes time to learn, change and even overcome our weaknesses.

6) God's love and providence were shown through the MCCC staff and student leaders. My team received meal treats from a few of the staff and Zulaa. Also, we received a lot of help from Od and Bolormaa especially Bolormaa who spent a lot of time on us. I am truly grateful and thankful for all they had done for us. No words can describe my aprreciation towards them.

Ok..I shall end off here. I will update more next time. :)
