Today was the start of the new sg system of mass teaching.
Ber was the first to speak to us today and it was on his mission trip to Tokyo. The desire and fire grew even more stronger to go on a mission trip to Japan and spread God's Word to the youths there after that. After the mass teaching, we broke up into our sg. The problem was there was nothing to tok abt..well..maybe a little. But my sg ended up sharing their wk and i trying to find something to tok abt. Ahh..it's a toughie manz.
The difference that set this sunday apart from no other sundays was when after ym was over, a youth told me that he/she wanted to jump during worship but didn't as he/she felt weird. Isn't this always the case? The differences we see during events such as FOP and Synergiz as compared to our Sunday's worship. Why???
Let me draw back to FOP first. During FOP, we saw youths jumping, clapping, raising their hands and singing. But are they really praising and worshipping the Lord with their hearts and not just with their actions? Or is it because it is just like any other events where we see youths jump and lift their hands?
If the ans is yes for the first one, another qn to ponder over is: are they right with God? Yes they may be singing and jumping but are they right with God? Is God living in them? Are they drawing closer to Him? It is meaningless when they are drifting away from God and coming for FOP is to get a feeling of God's presence or in other words, to feel 'high'.
To me as long as one is right with God and is worshipping Him with his heart, no matter what he/she does during worship, it does not matter. God sees the heart of His worshipper.
As for me personally, the difference when i go for events such as FOP and Sunday's worship, is that i can set myself loose and totally focus on God. Nothing else occupies my mind but only God. It's all about Him. What i meant by this? During FOP, almost everyone jumpped. It was..erm..common. You get the idea anyway. When i'm filled with joy during worship and i want to jump, i just do it. I didn't have to care about what others think about me or how they react. There is no sense of consciousness during FOP. Everything i do, is for the Lord and Him only. But in ym, when i'm standing in the midst of the youths and i started jumping, how would the youths react? That's when i start being conscious about my surroundings again.
Another thing is restriction. What do i mean by 'restriction'? An example is speaking in tongues. I hope the word 'tongues' is clear cut enough and that i don't have to elaborate more on this. Also there is the style of worship. This one i don't know how to put down in words here.
Don't take all these wrongly though. I do still worship God with all my heart during Sunday's worship but not to the depth of it where everything is focused on Him totally.
K..these are just my side of the story. Nitez.
